“Believe in yourself, and embrace your uniqueness. In a world full of opinions, remember that your self-beliefs set you apart. Regardless of what others may think, your belief in yourself defines who you are. Embrace your uniqueness, for that is what makes you extraordinary.”
These are words from Bali-based Kami No Ken Training founder and head coach Nasser Qazi, transforming lives of the program’s hundreds of participants from Indonesia and the Philippines, pouring his passion and dedication to this purposeful path of self-discovery, self-growth, and self-mastery.
“Self-love is at the core of our physical and mental training program at Kami No Ken,” Coach Nasser explains.
“Self-love helps you develop healthier habits. When people accept themselves without harsh judgment, they are more motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Self-love improves your emotional resilience, helps counter negative self-talk, puts things in perspective, and can help manage anxiety and depression. When you have a high level of self-compassion, then you have lower levels of anxiety and depression,” he further adds. So if you’re thinking of channeling your inner warrior, unleashing your “hidden Samurai”, and following your journey to self-love and self-discovery, then Kami No Ken training could be perfect for you.
The Kami No Ken Philosophy
As the Kami No Ken Bali management affirms, Kami No Ken is not a product; it’s a “way of life”: a self-transformative and self-improvement program geared towards empowerment, enhancing the mind-body-soul connection for self-rediscovery and growth. Kami No Ken is a Japanese term translating to “fist of God,” referring to the power and strength of God within. “We welcome students from all around the world who are ready to create new habits and rituals to reach a new level of awareness.”
With this “fist of God” personalized training program, the trainee-participants are guided to find their life purpose on their earthly journey, and to deeply comprehend their existence and spiritual journey in this lifetime.
“As a consequence of this spiritual process, you will find physical strength, endurance, persistence, and confidence that you previously considered far beyond your capacity. Ancient and recent emotional wounds will start to heal; your intuitive mind will start to lead; and you will find a connection to your highest consciousness – your inner God.”
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with you. This program will only work if the student is ready and willing to do what it takes to create a better and more fulfilling life. We are nothing more than a vessel that enables you to reach your destination.”
The Journey From A Nightmare Life to Bliss
Coach Nasser was born in Kabul, Afghanistan to a prominent and well-known family. His grandfathers – also well-known in the government and society –would persuade him that he would be a wise and noble leader one day.
The Kami No Ken founder and head coach shares his story.
With the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, the communist regime “wanted to kill my father, who was a university professor, very vocal against the Russian invasion, vocal about international law and human rights, so we had to flee the country and stay in Hamburg, Germany,” he narrates.
Coach Nasser’s family was initially invited to Hamburg because of their political connections, yet when they returned to Afghanistan, the war broke out in Kabul with the Russian invaders. With the Taliban militant insurgents taking over the Afghan government, “it became worse,” leaving them with no choice but to go back to stay in Germany.
As an immigrant in a ghetto Hamburg neighborhood, he was exposed to crime, violence, and racism at a young age, leading him to become involved in gangs and, later, to prison as a teenager.
Life Of Crime and Violence From A Dark Past
“In my younger years, I was often out on the streets. I expressed my anger differently, being in a foreign land and being an immigrant, losing my country. At 16, I ended up in prison because of fighting. We had fights every week, being a member of the neighborhood's street gang."
Although he received support from his loving family, he gathered enough courage to leave the ghetto lifestyle behind, and embark on his journey of self-transformation.
Yet, while finishing his college degree in Economics, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He was advised by his doctors of the worst: that his quality of life would deteriorate within 2-3 years. When he recuperated, he flew to China to study Qi Gong, significantly contributing to his better health and recovery.
Flying to his family in Germany, he launched his own business, a chain of smoothie and salad bars. Still, soon long after, his multiple sclerosis symptoms resurfaced, along with his father’s diagnosis of stage 4 brain tumor.
Coach Nasser continued his study of Asian philosophies and Japanese Zen practices while caring for his father, who later passed on. He later cared for his aging mother and younger brother, who was diagnosed with a severe mental illness.
Alcoholism And Wrong Business Decisions
Entering the food and beverage industry, he became successful in business, yet went to extremes as an alcoholic, leading to anxiety, panic attacks, and severe depression, causing his downfall and his business' downfall.
"I became an alcoholic when my father died, "Coach Nasser shared. "My father died of brain cancer; I took care of him for one year. He was my best friend and my family. After that, I lost all complete hope. I made wrong decisions and was not focused on my business."
"As an alcoholic, I tried to drink my pain away. I tried to drink my anxiety away. I pretended to be strong, but I was actually very weak then. Now, there's no more shying away, no more hiding. That was who I was, and now this is how I am. That's why I can relate with people with traumas."
"With my business then, I made a lot of wrong decisions. Initially, I did well, but I also made many mistakes and went bankrupt. So I was not really "doing great." We built a huge chain, but the bigger you get, the more sensitive are your decisions." he added.
The Kami No Ken founder and head coach struggled to traverse the challenge-filled road back to a life based on the essence of Zen. He was searching for a purpose-driven life, one in which he could find inner peace and fulfillment, one where he could enjoy the present moment. He knew he needed help.
After several psychiatric consultations and treatments and living a more tranquil, Zen-centered lifestyle, he finally realized there's no turning back since then. Moving forward, he knew that he was starting on the right path.
Happily married to his lovely Indonesian wife Magali, and also caring for his four-month-old baby in tow, he heads his Kami No Ken growing community today, changing people's lives.
"Last time we had a training at The Farm at San Benito in the Philippines, we changed lives in four days," he points out. "From our Instagram, you can see that we post one or two testimonials from The Farm weekly. And each of them did an amazing testimonial; these were independent individuals. These were sincere and honest testimonials on how we were able to guide them in transforming their lives."
The Kami No Ken Philosophy
From the Kami No Ken philosophy, what are some principles that individuals treading the path to self-discovery live by?
Embrace Your Authenticity
"We believe in the power of self-discovery and embracing your true self. We're here to empower you to break free from the shackles of societal expectations and live life on your terms," says Coach Nasser. Being true to yourself means finding the courage to be honest and open, discarding false masks and facades.
When you have come to terms with your true inner value, this is where you can find the courage and strength to combat the challenges of life and emerge victorious.
Never Cater to Anyone's Ego
"In this journey, it's essential to remember that your worth isn't defined by someone else's opinions or demands. Don't let the weight of others' expectations hinder your growth. Stay true to yourself and pave your unique path," Kami No Ken's head coach shares.
No matter how much people try to influence you, your choices must be rooted in your own individual values. The path you choose is yours alone, and every step must be based on respecting who you are. Don't ever compromise for anyone else. Living by these principles will allow you to achieve a life of joy and reward.
At Kami No Ken's classes and coaching workshops, students are given the tools to shape their destinies and lives in the desired way.
"We equip students with the perspective and skills to tackle even the toughest challenges. With our help, you can find the strength to make your own decisions."
Never Dance to the Music of Anyone Else
"Your life is your dance, and you hold the rhythm within. Don't allow others to dictate the melody. Trust your intuition and follow the beat of your own heart. When you dance to your own tune, the magic truly happens," Coach Nasser points out.
With its highly sought-after and special Self-Awareness Nine-Day Program, Kami No Ken sifts through students with the management's strict selection process, wherein chosen participants must showcase their genuine desire to transform themselves with a high level of integrity and "a willingness to pay forward to humanity at large."
"We're looking for special individuals who are attuned with their rhythm, dancing to the beat of their drum," he adds. "So if you are demanding, entitled or obnoxious, or looking for a quick fix, you will not qualify for Kami No Ken's limited space. "
Listen to Reason and Walk Away
"Remember, it's important to surround yourself with people who encourage your growth and support your journey. Listen to reason and engage in meaningful conversations. But if these lack reason or emptiness, have the strength to walk away. Your time and energy are valuable."
When you find yourself in toxic or paralyzing situations wherein these do not serve you and do not help you in any way to reach your goals, contradicting your inner values, it is best to leave. Have the courage to tread the path of the few, away from the bandwagon, and find yourself, your worth, and back to your course for your inner journey.
As Coach Nasser explains, their Kami No Ken students are taught to "believe, achieve, and learn."
"We (need to) embrace the power within us. We believe we are divine and capable of achieving anything in life. Confidence and success go hand in hand; they fuel each other on the journey to greatness. But remember, staying open to learning from experiences is key to continuous growth."
The program's head coach further points out that "faith and imagination are our driving forces. With them, there's nothing we cannot do!"
Invitation To Join The Kami No Ken Journey To Self-Discovery and Self-Development
Coach Nasser encourages interested individuals to join the Kami No Ken group of enlightened individuals "on this empowering journey of self-discovery and transformation. Unleash your true potential and conquer the world!"
"There's a quote, "To hell with circumstances, I create opportunities." Whenever I read that quote, sometimes I laugh about it, and sometimes I get angry. That was before. I asked myself, 'How the hell can somebody ignore the circumstances he or she is in and create opportunities out of these?' "
"Until I understood that everything I had, everything I used to be, and everything I attract around me was because of the person I used to be at that time. And then I realized I need to change that person to attract better opportunities and kinder people in my life."
"This required, number one, honesty with myself. I must admit I was not happy with who I am and how my life went then. Number two, it required responsibility. I had to take responsibility for all the failures and everything that went wrong in my life because I was a "champion" and pointing (the blame) to others."
"Number three, I had to learn and admit that I had to work harder on myself than on anything else outside. I had to start the inner work: physically, emotionally, intellectually, on my intuitive mind in these areas. Once I started this, my philosophy, attitude, language, communication skills, and my own personality eventually changed. So many changes took place, and I attracted different people and new opportunities."
"Let's embark on this transformative path together - where you can embrace your authentic self, break free from expectations, and create a life filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment."
